3rd Place in Grade V at the Stone Mountain Highland Games!
A valiant effort was put forth at the Stone Mountain Highland Games by the Ballantyne Memorial Pipe Band. Unfortunately, we were not quite able to achieve victory over the many other pipe bands we were competing against. However, we are pleased that we were able to place with a respectable finish.
We were defeated by the Charleston Police Pipe Band in first place, and a band from Tennessee I think in second.
It was a cold and rainy day, very hard on instruments and players both. Being from Texas it's somewhat difficult for all of us to produce a good sound, but we were fortunate and able to play without rain, however the day was still cloudy and there was quite a chill to the breeze.
The competition season is now over for us, however the band will still be performing in other locations for Scottish celebrations and events.
And of course I will be performing around Dallas, so keep an eye on here for when and where you can see me!
